Personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE) is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.
According to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), students are expected to participate in PDHPE for between 1.5 and 2.5 hours per week in Kindergarten to Year 6.
PDHPE provides students with opportunities to explore issues that are likely to impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others – now and in the future. Students also participate in challenging and enjoyable physical activity, improving their capacity to move with skill and confidence.

The students and teachers of LPPS would like to acknowledge the Dharawal speaking people who are the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet today. This is a time to remember that families of Aboriginal People occupied this country before we did. Even on the grounds of LPPS we see midden shells that tell us that local families gathered together and shared food. Nearby lies an important crossing point from Maianbar to Shiprock Point where Aboriginal People from further south visited this area. We pay our respects to the Dharawal People, their families, their children and their Elders past, present and future. We promise to try and keep their stories and memories alive.
